The Ages of the Sun

This series of woodcuts is focused on the life cycle of a medium sized star, like our sun and its’ trajectory over the next few billion years.
Our Sun is a ‘main sequence star’ fusing hydrogen to form helium. When it depleted its hydrogen stock it will swell to become a red giant several thousand times bigger than its current size, before collapsing back into a white dwarf, fueled not by fusion but by electron degeneracy.
Here it will remain for many tens of billions of years until it becomes the (currently theoretical) black dwarf, emitting no heat or light.
